Places
Tuvalu
Tuvalu is a group of nine islands in the Pacific Ocean, formerly known as Ellice Islands. The fourth-smallest country in the world covers land area of 27km2 and gained its independence from Great Britain in 1978. Tuvalu’s islands are generally flat, seldom rising higher than 15ft above sea level, causing major flooding during high tides and implications for the nation’s future.
